Breckenridge and Summit County Wedding Venues

As wedding season approaches here in Summit County, we have been getting a lot of questions about local wedding venues from brides and grooms. So here are some favorite venues in the area....and we hope to highlight some of these locations down the road!

Alpine Villa - Breckenridge - private home with lodging for up to 40 people just off the Breckenridge Golf Course.

Elk River Ranch - Private Home on Hoosier Pass with lodging for 16. Capacity of 50 guests in winter and 100 guests in summer.

Lost Creek Ranch - Ranch is 12 miles north of Silverthorne with lodging for up to 24 people.

Sapphire Point an outdoor location for weddings with up to 35 guests. Located Off Swan Mountain Road between Keystone and Frisco.



Silverthorne Pavilion - Silverthorne - large community pavilion on the Blue River with capacity for 300 guests.

Carter Park - a park in the center of Breckenridge owned by the Town of Breckenridge.

Keystone Resort - Many options for locations including on-mountain Timber Ridge restaurant, Keystone Ranch, and Ski Tip Lodge. Can accomodate up to 300 guests.

Ten Mile Station - on-mountain location at Breckenridge Ski Area - for weddings with up to 200 guests.

CF Great Strides Walk in Dillon June 14th - Please Join Us!

We will be walking in a Great Strides Fundraising walk for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) on June 14th in Dillon and could use some more walkers! What is CF? CF is a disease that two of my dear friends are dealing with on a daily basis! One is our neighbor and friend in Dillon, 8 year old Megan!

But on June 14th we will be coming together to walk in a fundraiser like THIS ONE to raise money and awareness to fight CF!

Happy Earth Day 2008 - Volume 3

At the end of Earth Week, I think about what changes I can make to make a difference. I was completely mesmerized and inspired by the talk of John Fielder, Colorado's infamous nature photographer on Earth Day this week. It made me realize what a difference us photographers can make in our world!

Although I had attended a few presentations done by John Fielder, and own several of his books, I hadn't really understood the IMPACT of his photography on our natural world until I heard him talk this week on Earth Day. He presented a sneak preview of his newest book (to be in bookstores in September 2009) called "Ranches of Colorado" and will be a beautiful overview in stunning photos of the beauty and necessity of ranches in our Colorado Landscape! I hadn't realized some of the need for conservation of lands like this in Colorado.

What is Cystic Fibrosis (CF) ????

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is something that two of my dear friends and their children and grandchildren are dealing with on a day to day basis.

CF is a disease. CF is a disease that attacks the lungs of an innocent child, and makes it difficult and sometimes impossible to breathe. CF is a genetic disease that effects over 30,000 people in the US. In the 1950's these children rarely lived to attend elementary school. But with the help of organizations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and modern medicine, the average estimated lifespan is now 37 years. And is increasing every year! CF is something that Megan, at age 8, faces daily and requires her to take 40 pills a day and do treatments twice daily. CF interferes with her ability to ski and mountain bike, yet her beautiful smile always shines through!






CF is something that Owen was diagnosed with at 6 months.....and requires his parents to do treatments for hours each day, to make sure he can breathe easily the next day. Owen's grandma, Barb, introduced me to CF last year. A disease I wish I had never met!



But together, we can all make a difference! There are more drug therapies being discovered daily that help CF patients! And

Baby Portraits - Meet 7 month old Annika!

Annika had portraits taken last week & we had a lot of fun! This is such a great age to photograph babies, because they are so interactive.... they can sit up & babble with you and they really know that they are being photographed!

Some babies are very shy and afraid of the camera, but Annika was drawn to it & wanted to touch the camera! Anytime I put it down within her reach, I was in trouble! But what a beautiful little girl & what a fun portrait session! Below are some favorite images or you can view the whole SLIDESHOW.

And I love photographing the body parts.... hands, feet, ears....they are all so perfect! I understand Annika's perfect ears come from her father, who I haven't met yet!
