I had the best assignment this week - taking photos of a member of the US Snowboarding team,
Callan Chythlook-Sifsof from Alaska. I tried to get out on the hill an hour or two several days during their training. What a wonderful group of young peole and what talent!
The group has been training for two weeks at
Arapahoe Basin and you could tell they were tired at the end of two weeks! Callan competes in the boardercross event - so they are carving and flying down the mountain at top speeds! It was a pleasure to be in their company - and I hope to be watching some of them compete in the 2010 Olympics!
My favorite images are in the
SLIDESHOW and a few posted below......
The first image is of the instructor,
Thedo Remmelink, a competitor in the 1998 Olympics in Nagano with Callan listening intently in the background.

It's hard to believe that there is this much snow (almost no bare spots) on May 23rd! What an amazing winter! I also found some
VIDEO FOOTAGE online from a day of their training session the week before.
I will be posting more images over the next few days and all can be viewed
HERE ONLINE!
