Please vote for your favorite acting headshot!

Please help us chose a favorite headshot to submit to a talent agency. This beautiful young woman is just 10 years old, but has a beautiful voice, a LOT of personality and plenty of talent! But she only gets to submit one headshot so we could use some help deciding! You can view the full SLIDESHOW here....

Breakfast With Santa

Before Christmas, we had a wonderful Breakfast with Santa event as a fundraiser for the Summit County Preschool. The photos can be VIEWED ONLINE. Call Sheri or Kay for the password.

I absolutely adore the range of expressions on faces.....some are in horror, some are amazed....I just LOVE capturing some of these moments that go away as they grow up!

And even adults....this photo was when Frisco Mayor Bill Pelham asked Santa for affordable housing for Christmas, and they both had a belly laugh!

Weddings at Gold Lake Resort

This is my absolutely favorite resort on earth and if I was to get married all over again I would hold it at this beautiful mountain retreat, Gold Lake Resort. (I would marry the same guy all over again, just in this location!) It is nestled in the mountains just outside of Ward, Colorado, 45 minutes from Boulder.

I used to describe the Resort's location as being 20 miles down a dirt road in the most beautiful secluded area....but since I have learned the dirt road is just 3 miles, it just is so relaxing to leave civilization and arrive at this resort! No cell phone service and no television which I love! It is located on about 100 acres with it's own private lake AND a wonderful full service spa! There are 19 beautiful and rustic cabins, and they have renovated them so beautifully keeping the mountain and rustic theme.

From the Gold Lake Website ( their mission is described as:

Our dream is to bridge heaven and earth by uplifting this beautiful and sacred place and allowing the great healing powers of the land to benefit many. We see Gold Lake as a shining light to all those who seek comfort, inspiration, relaxation and healing. We see Gold Lake contributing to a more prosperous earth by being a portal for wisdom, connection, learning and exploration for individuals and groups.

There is no greater gift than connecting with another human being. There is no greater forum for connecting with another human being than in natural splendor. We need time and places to reflect, learn, and to get to know each other and ourselves. Gold Lake is ready to offer the world a sacred and magical opportunity.

Gold Lake received an award some years ago as being the "Most Romantic Resort in Colorado." But I also find it a great place to take a personal spiritual journey - when I'm extremely overworked and really need a day or two off, I LOVE going here all by myself and having some hours of silence. The restaurant is absolutely amazing....great organic, sustainable food, in the most amazing environment.

And one of the interesting things that Gold Lake offers, is the ability to rent out the entire resort for weddings. It's called the "All Exclusive Gold Lake Package" and you can rent out the entire facility, 19 cabins, restaurant, and all the facilities for a night or two! Someday I am going to do the EXCLUSIVE Gold Lake Package....I just don't know when yet!

Gold Lake is not for have to really like the outdoors, quiet, rustic cabins, and some time nestled in nature....but Gold Lake is definitely for me! If you want to stay connected with the rat race, you may want to stay in the city....but when I get away, I want to REALLY get away and this is my favorite place to do that!

Does anyone want to join me?

Flashes of Hope - Giving a Gift of Photography

Flashes of Hope is a wonderful non-profit that brings me to the Denver Children's Hospital about once a year. There are 27 chapters of Flashes of Hope around the country, and hundreds of professional photographers have shared their gifts with families with children struggling with severe medical problems.

Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it's especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.

There is no way to describe in words what this experience does for me each time, but I will try to describe it in photos....

The organization is always looking for more volunteer professional photographers and I promise it will be well worth your while! If you're a member of ASMP, there is no application waiting time.

The video that really convinced me to join Flashes of Hope was this one by Daryn Kagan. Watch it and it might change some things for you!

This Denver 9News Video Clip is also a more local view of what's happening with Flashes of Hope in Colorado and featuring Denver photographer Ray Ng.

Jessica and Dan's Engagement Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Dan on Christmas Eve at Keystone Lodge. Unfortunately, we had been snowed out the day before, so our only option was early morning on the 24th when it was BELOW ZERO! But luckily Jessica and Dan live in Minnesota and are troopers & the cold didn't bother them a bit!

They are getting married this summer at Donovan Pavilion in Vail, and things should be much different in summer!

Domus Pacis - a wonderful Breckenridge non-profit!

I have had the pleasure of working with a local non-profit in 2008, called Domus Pacis (latin for House of Peace). The Domus Pacis Family Respite offers families suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses an opportunity to spend a week in the mountains and have fun with no cost to them! Most families facing this type of illness, have spent most of their money on medical costs and can't afford a carefree week or weekend in the mountains! So Domus Pacis helps them ENJOY their time with their loved ones!

You can read more about them in either of these newspaper articles:

Summit Daily News June 2008

Summit Daily News Article December 2008

In 2008, Domus Pacis helped 8 families come to the mountains and enjoy a week of rest and relaxation and their goal for 2009 is to help 30 additional families. Please help them accomplish this goal!

If you have any services or time to donate, please call Duck White-Petteruti at 970-547-4745. And check them out online at Some areas of need are:

One of the challenges of the organization is to have the right size house at the right time for the patient and their family, which requires us to have a wide variety of potential accommodations. If you have a property that you could donate for the organization's use during non-peak weeks, we would be so grateful for your assignment of the week(s) to the Domus Pacis Family Respite.
