Dax is 6 months old!

Dax and sister Anna came in for his six month old portraits....but we had a little trouble getting 2 year old Anna to sit down for photos - a typical response from an active 2 year old with more to do than sit & smile over & over & over again!

I love capturing babies between 6 months and 9 months old, because they are full of smiles (most of the time) and sitting up and engaging with others, but they aren't walking yet, and can't walk off the backdrop! And I love the Dax bag from LLBean - we had some fun with that!

Flashes of Hope

This year I had the honor to photograph another dozen or so kiddos through the Flashes of Hope program. These photos are some of the most difficult childrens portraits I take every year but they are also the most meaningful photos I take every year.

Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. They have branches in 30 cities now and each month a different volunteer photographer spends a day at Children's Hospitals and photographs these beautiful kiddos!

The sessions are always free to the families, and they are given 10 black & white photos from the shoot to keep forever. Two 8x10 prints and the rest in smaller sizes.

Professional photographers can apply to help out online at the Flashes of Hope website! I highly recommend it!

These last three photos are of one of my favorite little buddies....I have photographed him twice now, once through Flashes of Hope and once through another Summit County program called Domus Pacis. With the coincidence of meeting up with him twice, I figure I was meant to become a part of his support team - and he has one HUGE support team! But you can see why....he's obviously an adorable 5 year old with HUGE personality!

Julie & Ace's Ski Tip Lodge Wedding

Julie & Ace were married last fall at Keystone's Ski Tip Lodge. And finally, I have time to post all the photos on my blog!

Ski Tip Lodge is really one of my favorite venues....and a favorite place for a romantic dinner with my husband. But photographing there can be a challenge because the dining room is quite small, that I'm always in the way of the wait staff trying to serve the perfect dinner. And they serve only perfect dinners there!

It is a historic building, the Ski Tip Lodge is really charming. Keystone describes it as located in a quiet area of the resort, Ski Tip Lodge is a storybook place: quaint, cozy, innovative and reminiscent of a classic Swiss hotel. They have accomodations for 75 guests in winter and 125 in summer.

And Julie & Ace had an absolutely perfect day for their wedding!

Tavian has always been fond of the camera - and his two year old portraits really show that! I just love some of his expressions and his personality! What a beautiful little boy!

Katie turned 2 on Valentines Day!

Katie has been coming to get her portraits taken since she was 6 months old and she is always a joy to photograph! There are always such a variety of emotions and expressions, I think we could do a photo essay on all the different toddler emotions with each of Katie's photo shoots!

Katie's birthday is on Valentines Day and as you can see she was in a beautiful birthday/valentines dress and was obviously enjoying the day!

And Katie has her own website to sell some of her favorite things, including the beautiful clothes she's wearing in these. Check out Katie's Favs!
