Ode to Tyler's Hair.... September 2010

My Tyler, age 11, has the BEST HAIR! He didn't get it from me, but from his father, who now shaves his head. So it's been growing and growing and growing..... and even growing some dreadlocks at the back. So after months of persuasion.... we talked him into a haircut today.

We gave him his choice of whatever length of cut he wanted.... at least an inch was required... and he chose a buzz cut! At our friend Bona's new salon in Silverthorne, A New Concept Salon. Luckily I had just returned from a senior portrait & had my camera in the car.... first haircut I have documented since he was a toddler!

And the title... "Ode to Tyler's Hair" is the works of his 6th grade language teacher, Ms. Goode, who LOVES his hair & will be so saddened on Monday morning to learn we let Tyler choose his haircut & he chose BUZZ CUT. She had the 6th grade class write "Ode to Tyler's Hair" today in anticipation of this haircut! She was only thinking an inch or two.... I know she'll be sad to learn this outcome on Monday morning!
