FIBArk and Ride the Rockies in Salida

We spent the weekend in Salida to enjoy some of the festivities related to the FIBArk Whitewater Festival, and also Ride the Rockies was ending in Salida on Saturday - so the town came alive! I didn't get any great kayaking shots, because I was taking the weekend off & not willing to carry around my big lens in the crowds... but it was fun and colorful as you can see from the weekend's photos!

It seems like Salida has a lot of bikes, kayaks, and dogs! And that it's a great town! I love all the smiles at the end of the Ride the Rockies - if I had been on my bike for 6 days and 600 miles across Colorado - I would be smiling to get off that thing too!

Arapahoe Basin Weddings - Black Mountain Lodge open for weddings in 2011

Great news as a new wedding venue opens up here in Summit County for 2011 weddings. The beautiful Black Mountain Lodge - a mid mountain restaurant at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area which opened in 2008 for skiers and will be opening for weddings next year!

We were lucky to photography Emily and Geoff's wedding there two summers ago.... one of the very first...

But as great as the venue is, until the old Exhibition Lift was replaced, it made weddings difficult there - but as I type, the Exhibition chairlift is being demolished! And a new one will be in operation by fall!

What a beautiful place to get married.... if I had it all to do over again, I would marry the same guy, but in this location!

Childrens Portraits - Katie is Back!

Katie is 3 years old now and has been coming for portraits since she was 6 months old. Always a pleasure to photograph, as she gives me an array of emotions.... and she has such an opinion on things!

What a Surprise Party at Keystone - Kim turns 40!

My buddy Kim turned 40 this week and Tracey and Dave were able to pull off this AMAZING surprise party at the Inn at Keystone. Complete with karaoke and all kinds of decorations and dress up clothes....

It doesn't look like we were having any fun does it? And these last two photos of my husband Kirk & I make the kids say, "we are SO GLAD we weren't there! Were you really singing AND dancing? Oh so embarassing!" Yes, Kirk did a solo on karaoke all by himself - with the blonde wig!

Amazing Lake Dillon Single Family Home for Sale!

This week I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful home in Summerwood (between Dillon and Keystone). The views are so dramatic, it is an absolutely amazing property.... although I was nervous just getting some of these photos, resting on the rock cliff!

Dillon CF Walk July 10th 9am - Sign up TODAY!
