Snowy Morning in Boulder

January and February tend to be slower months for us photographers - so when I can I try to do some "personal work" - and love getting out on snowy mornings just to wander and explore with my camera. This week we got a few new inches of snow overnight and then the sun came out in the morning and I went on one of my "walkabouts" - explored Chautauqua Park and Flagstaff Mountain in the snow. It was beautiful!

The first photos are closest to our home in Erie - a barn or two in Lafayette and on Cherryvale Road in Boulder.

















Chautauqua Park is a beautiful location just outside of Boulder - a landmark in Boulder for more than 100 years with a spectacular view of the flatirons. Weddings and events are held at this beautiful locations, and there are 60 quaint cottages on the property.









The Halfway House is a stone building halfway up Flagstaff Mountain and on City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property and can be rented for events. There aren't a lot of frills at the Halfway House - just a stone building, picnic tables, and a fireplace and deck... but the views are incredible!
