Breckenridge Screening of Documentary "Chasing Ice"

Just 7 days ago I saw the documentary film "Chasing Ice", and it has had a profound effect on me. I can't stop thinking about it. That's what really good documentaries are all about, right? So I keep asking the same question that photographer and scientist James Balog was asking in the movie, "What am I going to do about this?" Well James has dedicated his photography career to showing us in visual images how our planet is changing and the glaciers are melting. I can't go hang off glaciers with him, but I totally admire the dedication and I'm trying to figure out... "What am I going to do about this?...."

Team Breckenridge Sports Alliance is bringing the documentary to Summit County:

“You’ve never seen images likes this before…It deserves to be seen and felt on the big screen.”

and a Youtube video of the 75 minute glacier "calving" that was caught on film during the filming of Chasing Ice. They say the size of this glacier section that plunged into the ocean is over the size of Manhattan. This Youtube vide has had almost 4 million views - maybe this will make a difference?

and if not - what WILL make a difference?

Thanks to Team Breckenridge for bringing this to Summit County - and a Summit Daily News article about Team Breck is online here:

Boulder Magazine also did a feature on the film which you can read at THIS LINK.
